In looking at all the tools used to monitor the health of our network. All the lookups are based on the RF MAC address of the CM. In the networking world of DOCSIS how can I get the IP address from the command line for any given MAC address?
I have a problem with ldap/dhcp provisioning server. The cable modem and MTA takes IP normally but the CPE router(WAN) does not.
I dont know where the problem is. Below is the config that the dhcp takes from LDAP:
I have the software Arris Universal CPE Test Station and I can update firmware with file Format .img perfectly ¿but how do I can update a modem with file format .cdf? I have no file CVS but I have the file .cdf. My specific problem is with the modem ubee dvw324
I´m thinking in building a CMTS based in Docsis_server for testing porpose but I´m not understanding how to interface the coax modem with the PC where the Docsis_server will be installed.
Thanks for your time guys, I am looking for Definitions on some of these errors (or all of them if available), as it will help me do my Job a lot better. Things Like:
Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 time out
DHCP FAILED - Request sent, No response;
CISCO: RF disconnect,QAM lost.
And more, as well as looking for how we would troubleshoot such errors.
I have a strange problem with ISC DHCP. From time to time DHCP server removes IP adresess to one cable modem and gives to another one in a short period of time. It behaves like it does not have free leases. I have checked and there are more then 3000 free leases. I dont know if it is a load problem because the leases file is very big (74 Mb)? Does ISC have a load limit?
We have few BSR64000 deployed in our network. Currently we are having an issue where when we login using SSH, the response time is very very slow: for example when we issue command like show cable modem | i xxxx (last 4 digit cm mac id). We were told that it is actually a "memory-leak" issue and to solve this, we need to upgrade the image to the latest one. Its been running for no issue for 1 year plus only to have this "memory-leak" issue.
