Hello,

I'm having trouble setting the interface upstream description, it seems like I only can set the cable description and not for each upstream. I haven't seen any info on this on the manual.

Any tips ?

Configuring MAC Range using CNR

Forums:

Hello ,

I am trying to set up my uBR7246 VXR and CNR6.1 to have CM and MTA fully provision. I have been able to successfully provision individual modem manufacturers, however, when I try to provision multiple modem manufacturers, I am stuck. I will have to list the Modem MAC under client's for it to get its file. Is there a way to assign a range of MAC using CNR? For example can I set something like (00a345000000 00a345ffffff) such that any modems in this range will get a specific config file?

Thanks for your help.

Modem does not want to connect when upstream channel ID specified

Forums:

Hello,

recently we put another CMTS in service in our network. I have defined new config files for modems that need to go to this CMTS. In that config file I specified it's downstream frequency and upstream channel ID to which I want them to connect. Most of the modems did that correctly, but we have some 10% that receive the file and then do nothing. It looks like they could not find that upstream channel.

ICS DHCP failover/load balancing and DOCSIS

Forums:
Well we finally have our MPLS network in place and I am gearing up to centralize all of our provisioning and add as much redundancy as I can. My goal is to have one main DHCP server with a secondary one synced up and ready to load balance if need be. I have a test version of this running (a site dhcp server as the master and my main server at the headend as the slave), but I am having issues with the BootP part of the equation. It appears that the ICS DHCP server doesn't like to failover pools with bootp enabled.

low power level reception , negociated

Forums:

Hello , can someone help me with this ... , I am working with a BSR 64000 Motorola BSR, I am aware the Power RX is negociated between the CM and the CMTS , at current configuration I have it set in the CMTS to be 14dBmV, I have some CM registered with low power level reception , - 0.5 , 8 , 10 dBmV , it happens with some CMs in different Upstream channels , so I dont think it is a plant problem, can be the wire instalation at clients home ? or a problem with the CMTS in the process of negociating the power level , how can this low power level affect the service being provided ?
