I have a problem with EPC3010 modem (firmware dated 10-09-01) that I can not log on to the UBR in DOCSIS 3.0. This is the only type of modem (D3.0) that I have. Modem logs on to DOCSIS 2.0. What option should I activate in the UBR (or maybe cable modem) to run in newest standard?
Here is part of my configuration for downstream:
controller Integrated-Cable 3/0
rf-channel 0 cable downstream channel-id 1
rf-channel 0 frequency 562000000 annex A modulation 256qam interleave 12
rf-channel 0 rf-power 44.0
no rf-channel 0 rf-shutdown

I'm trying to build a config file which open a UGS sevice flow for soft phones.
As we know the UGS service flow is being opened by the MTA part of the CM and is not a part of the Docsis config file.
By know I can make the call only over the BE service flow which serves the HSD service.
can anyone help with an idea, how can I enforce the CMTS to open a UGS service flow via the config file?
I have a strange problem. Often, some modems stays too long in init (t) state. The logs can be found that the discovery came a package that was sent to offer.
Also, often the CPE of these modems after the successful initialization have disabled network connection, so users must manually turn on connection, after which the address is given.
Has anyone had a similar problem, and can you give me some help?
P.S. Cisco CMTS ubr7200, DHCP server dhcpd 3.1.1 on Linux
I'm going to start work on the captive portal portion of my software for private cable operators. I'm looking for comments or feature requests. I'd like to find a way for it to look at the subscriber's cm mac address and allow anything connected to it to pass through if they are already in our database. Using the CPE info just begs the question, "What if they get a new computer or router?" I don't want to pay some to answer the phone and enter a new mac address. I'll make the software do the work.
Hi Guys,
I am testing Arris C4c.At work we are using pppoe for the user.Currently we have Cisco Ubr 72xx so pppoe terminates directly on it.
Arris doesnt supports direct PPPOE termination, so as per cisco site we are trying to do L2tp Tunnel between C4c & Cisco NAS which supports PPPOE.
Arris guys are also searching for way to do it but no luck. Can anyone doing something similar on Arris/BSR64000 please help me.
Hi Guys,
We are testing some new D.3 cmts.We need test/acceptance case/template for cmts.Tried to do on our own but we are
stuck with various modulation profiles & throughput.Which is not only thing cmts do.Can anyone share the test case.
Means I am asking one worksheet for way to do it.Or someone guide me what are the things to be monitor/done.
I’m quite new with the DOCSIS technology. Maybe it’s a simple question, so don't think that I’m a fool ;)
We created a test setup with the following components:
1. Arris C4 CMTS
2. Arris WBM760B (High Speed Data) This part works
3. Arris TM722B (High Speed Data and VOICE) Only the High Speed Data works
4. Debian DHCP and TFTP server for provisioning
The problem is that we aren’t able to get the EMTA’s online for a TM722B modem. So everything works fine except the voice part. We only see DHCP requests from the CMAC’s, is this normal?
How long does the 1500 store the offline modem history after the modem has been offline? I realize once the CMTS is restarted it's gone. I thought that the purge-fdb command was supposed to clean that out. So I guess my final two questions are: How do I clean out offline modem data and what does the purge-fdb command actually do?
