I'm trying to configure my UBR 7246 VXR to work with my 2 ISPs and i just can find the way to do it.
I have 2 ISPs, that till now were connected to 2 separate CMTSs & routers (because we do NAT).
What I'm trying to do is to eliminate my Arris CMTS and just use the CISCO UBR 7246 VXR.
What is the best way to do it? can i separate the CMTS ( 2 cards for each ISP - 12 upstreams) ? or can i route it if i give different ranges to the modems ?
Does anyone have a neat way to give CPEs a public static IP? There's no point in giving one to a CM. That's just a waste. They can have a private IP. In the dchpd.conf file I can statically assign a public IP using the CPEs mac address, but I want to somehow give a subscriber a public IP with only their CM mac address. Whatever they plug into that CM I want to give their Public Static IP. I know it can be done because my large monopoly provider does it. I can't let them be better than me at anything. :)

does anybody know how to manage Netgear CME31T modem via Command Line Interface? (Telnet/CLI) What commands are available?
Is there a special Diagnostic Modem vers. with shelled firmware, which allows to log onto the modem and set diagnostic switches to trace and log what is happening on the network, for tracing intermittent and otherwise difficult faults?
I have a cisco uBR7246VXR
Motorola C8U Upconverter
DOCSIS DS on 561MHz.
provisioned with freeBSD.
CM are Motorola SB4200 and SA WebStar for now
I have two ip pools one for cable modems 10.10.0.0/22
and another range for CPE 172.16.0.0/22
The current configuration allows two CPE behind the Cable Modem.
The situation is that cable modems receives IP address since you connect then to RF cable.
But when the CPE is an Access Point does not acquire ip.
You have to turn off the AP and turn it on again to receive IP.
I've been working on setting up VOIP using ncs (packetcable) mta modems. I've been using Arris TM502G and Motorola SB5121 modems. So far, I've gotten the motorola to download the MTA config file, but I am having problems getting the Arris to ever request its MTA config.
