i have created web interface using snmp query, for monitoring cable modems. now i am trying to use this interface with cmts arris 1000 (nortel/cornerstone 1000) and i have a problem. most of function works great but i cant get value for cable modem upstream snr (docsIfCmtsCmStatusSignalNoise MIB). result for every modem is zero so i believe there is no response at all, cause description of docsIfCmtsCmStatusSignalNoise is: "Signal/Noise ratio as perceived for upstream data from this Cable Modem. If the Signal/Noise is unknown, this object returns a value of zero."
I have a CMTS 1000. Or maybe it's a 1100 or 1500. How do I tell? Anyway, I had it to the point where the modem would get an IP, but not a config file. This is all just in a test environment. I use Debian Linux and DHCP. I've statically assigned my config file (cm1.md5) to the modem. I know the config file is good because I use it in other working environments. The bad part is that I've reset the CMTS to factory defaults and now I can't even get the moedm to get and IP address. Can anyone help me out?
I am asking if someone can point me in the right direction to get a used CMTS up and running that I recently purchased. I found a long PDF manual on Nortel's website but it really doesn't help much because they want you to have LCn provisioning software which didn't come with this used unit. Furthermore, when I power it up, the LCD display just blinks a blank message that looks like this:

The SELECT, MODE, UP, DOWN button have no response. So I am wondering if this is a sign of a defect.
We are using Terayon BW32xx & BW35xx type CMTS's. The latest software version what we use, is 4.1.3.1.4. If have anybody newer version of software, please send me.
Our company has just picked up a few new gateways that all use the CMTS 1000. We use an IP tracking system that relies on SNMP traps update a database with information about the moems's. I have read the manual many times, actually 4 different manuals that I found for this device, but can not get the traps to work. I have added an access entry in access-specific to point the traps towards the specific server that we use to do the same thing with our UBR's, but it does not send any traps. I have followed the instructions and did this more than once but still no traps.

Hello, I have a Arris 1000 CMTS system and our customers are using Motorola SB5101E modems.
I need to put several of these modems on different upstream than the rest, but so far I had no luck with it.
I made a different conf file for these modems, and I used a UpstreamChannelId function, but nothing happens. DHCP pases correct boot file to these modems, but they simply ignore UpstreamChanelID command and connect to the first upstream as all others do.
Do I have to make additional changes that I am unaware of or do I have some other problem ?
