I just signed up with Kabel Deutschland for Internet, and I received a THG540 cabel modem. How do I configure the SIP ports on it though? I can't see any option anywhere to allow me to type in my VoIP provider's SIP information. So far I've been accessing the modem via the Ethernet port: could it be that accessing it via USB reveals access to all these settings? (Note that Kabel Deutschland is NOT my VoIP provider!)

can I somehow isolate my clients, so that they cannot see each other in docsis 1.0 network ? They are all on one upstream and share same downstream ? CMTS is Arris 1000 CMTS

I would like to know that specific CableLabs document that specifies the TLV or DOCSIS specific MIB type.

I am able to parse a CM or eMTA file into "records" and in turn parse the records based of if they are TLVs or MIBs. However I would like to know that names of the specific TLV e.g. NetworkAccess = 3.

I know that vendor dependant MIBs will vary by Vendor and I can get those from the Vendors. I am presently just interested in the DOCSIS lists.

Just want to ask if anyone experienced problems with the implementation of Thomson THG-540(SIP)?
We are using THG-520 modems without any problems, but the 540 EMTA part of modem doesn't get it's IP.

The log from the modem:

I was interested in knowing what percentage of the the users in this forum, provisioin their cable modems and or eMTAs in one or the other way mentioned below:

1. Specify the cable modem and emta config file in their DHCP Server config or Reservation.
2. Just specifying the TFTP file server name in the DHCP and allowing the CM or eMTA to pickup their respective MAC.xx file from the TFTP server.

Comments on why you choose the way would be a greatly appreciated.

Hello, We are using as a Docsis Server (FreeBSD 6.2) , BSR is Motorola - 2000 and modems are Moto Surfboard SB5101E (
Software Version: SB5101E-2.4.4.0-SCM00-NOSH)

We have around 600 clients at the moment, upstreams are random divided .. 4th upstream has the most users around 300, we have 24Mbit transfer available.

Is Scancom going to work with this?

Hi there,

I'm trying to disable the Telephony-Leds on Motorola SBV5121.

Found allready the interface-Mib to disable the MTA
(IfAdminStatus.16 2)

But the Leds come up. The Motorola-TLVs doesn't affect the Modem.
Does Anybody know something about?
