how big is the difference in terms of available bandwith between qam64 vs qam256 ?

What signal level is needed to run qam256 on cable plant ?

I'm working for a cable tv company and I'm suposed to install and configure docsis_server. Problem is that I have never before done something similiar to this. all I have is on this page http://users.accesscomm.ca/docsis_server/.
Does somebody have written all commands that I have to use?
I know how to configure cmts but I don't know how to configure docsis-server...
Please, help me.

We have Motorola BSR 2000 and emta Motorola SBV5121E . CM work fine on this modem, now we want configure PacketCableю I try configure it self but no luck:( On this forum http://docsis.org/node/83 have some info but not 100% worked configs, please someone who have this configs(ISC DHCP,CM,EMTA) share its here.

I am trying to install docsis-server-2.0.4 on Fedora 7. but i have this problem when I run the make command.

Hi, everyone. I'm trying to make work together arris emtas (tm501b) and asterisk (using SIP). And I have a lot of problems. The major one is with asteriks 1.4 at some moment EMTA hangs. Only cold restart can resolve the problem for some time.
If anyone has achieved to make those two working together, please help me out

Could someone please post the actual steps a CM goes through to become registered? Doesn't it have to download two files? One that has the macs listed and another to set the up and down speeds? Or how do you add more than one modem at different speeds if all the modems download one file?

Could someone please help me with setting this unit up properly? I have the unit installed and my test modem talks to the DHCP server, obtains an IP, talks to the TFTP server, obtains the file, and then fails on registration. I purchased a copy of LCn Provisioning software to help provision the modems, but maybe the software is to old for the modems?

I am still trying to see if I can get a sample setup from scratch running for a used CMTS 1000 I purchased. I've been playing with the CLI but don't really know what configuration settings to make. Besides that I imagine I may not even have the correct connections, etc. in my lab environment. Could someone please verify that the diagram here is feasible to get working in a lab environment?
