Thomson THG-540 problems

Hello!
Just want to ask if anyone experienced problems with the implementation of Thomson THG-540(SIP)?
We are using THG-520 modems without any problems, but the 540 EMTA part of modem doesn't get it's IP.

The log from the modem:
Console/emta> INFO: dhcp_callback() - DHCP Callback called, Event 0x01: [BRCM_DHCP_CLI_EV_NOOFFERS]
Console/emta> ERROR: DHCP procedure has timed out.
INFO: dhcp_callback() - DHCP Callback called, Event 0x05: [BRCM_DHCP_CLI_EV_LEASE_RELEASED]
Console/emta> DHCP SW length:28

It worked normally yesterday, but after 3 or 4 reboots the EMTA part stops booting. I used TCPDUMP on the DHCP server and there are no DISCOVERY requests from that EMTA mac address.
We are using the latest modem firmware.
Anyone? :)

ToD?

Hello BiNe,

which Firmware is on the THG540?

Is there a Time of Day set at the DHCP-Offer from the CM-Part?

I know, the eMTA will not booting without ToD by CM-Part.

Logged in into the telnet-shell and looked at Console/cm> show lease. Look if under (4) Time Server IP address is a IP presented.

By the dhcp-offer for the eMTA-Scope from the Provisioning the ToD must set, too.

regards,

wittmann

P.S. Sorry for my poor english ;)

Nope...

Hey Wittmann,

First of all, thanks for your time and help ;)
I'm using THG540-8B.01.23-071217-S-1D1-E.img (SIP)firmware. It's the latest-I was told so by Thomson support.
Which one are you using?

I've checked and the TOD IP is present.

"By the dhcp-offer for the eMTA-Scope from the Provisioning the ToD must set, too."
I didn't get this part :) Do you maybe speak German(judging by your username)? :)

This is the part from eMTA:

Solved...

I've solved the problem.
If you are using 2 config files(one for CM and one for EMTA) don't use VSIF 170 which shows SIP configuration web interface.
Wittmann thanks for help again ;)

Hello BiNe, we use 8B.01.20

Hello BiNe,

we use 8B.01.20 at this time. I don't use VSIF 170 anytime, only combination of two bootfiles.

Yes, i'm from Germany.

does anyone have

does anyone have example-configuration for those files? we have også this one-file-problem and this should be solved very fast. i've read the provisioning-document and had a look on our "old" configfile... but it seems slightly different from all documentation...
