Hello, I am trying to config an Arris cadant c3 for the first time to test before replacing a Knovative in the field. This router came with its own Up-converter for the downstream and an output of 45-65 Dbmv. I cant get over the very first thing of getting the modems to acquire downstream lock to even start to get to the rest of the configuration. This is connecting through a Blonder Tongue diplexer currently and a series of splitters and pads i have been attenuating the signal with up to -70Db.
Can anyone help me how to close service in the modem configuration file except "network access 0"???
Any ideas how to block the service so that the MTA can work fine?
Hello everyone! I found this website looking for a solution with a problem that I am experimenting on a Cisco UBR7246VXR CMTS. I am having problems with the CPU utilization... The CPU is getting up to 99% when the traffic load is high and the problem is related with the IP Input Process. I am using NAT to provide access to my customers...
I have a system currently with a C7246VXR with a NPE-G1 and a MC28U. We have run into an issue with IP Address Spacing and want to reclaim with NAT. We have about 600 Modems on this system with about 400 of those Arris EMTA's. Normally our CPU usage is 10-15% at peak. When I have enabled NAT through a Single IP things seem to be ok, but as the day progressed the CPU usage kept creeping up. Even though our calls never peak over about 20 at any given time the cpu usage kept climbing. Its now at 86%.... Any suggestions?
I am starting the initiative to upgrade our system to Docsis 3.0. One concern I have is with the modems themselves. We are using the Motorola SB5101U and N right now which are Docsis 2.0 capable. Is there a firmware upgrade we can receive to upgrade these modems to Docsis 3.0? Or is this upgrade going to entail replacing these modems with Docsis 3.0 capable modems?
