Getting cable modems to work is a piece of cake for me. Getting Analog Telephone Adapters to work with Asterisk over cable modems is easy for me too. For some reason, I am having troubles with the EMTAs specifically the Arris TM502G. The funny thing is that I have access to Arris and ALL of the documentation. I have the cable modem part working fine. The thing I can't figure out is how to tell the Linux dhcpd.conf to send DHCP option 122 to the cable modem part of the TM502G to trigger the dhcp/tftp process of its MTA. Can anyone give me some clues on this?
We just installed a Arris C3 CMTS and are sending the IF output to a EMCEE Transmiter for our MMDS wireless cable plant. The CMTS does not seem to be outputing enough IF to allow the transmitter to come on line fully. Any ideas?
I did not know where to post something like this, but we are in need of a used docsis 1.0 cmts with 2-3 upstreams and 1 downstream. We would like if it could be Arris 1000 cmts, but any other unit can also be offered.

Does anyone who is using, has used or tried out DOCSIS_SERVER from accesscom.ca, care to share their experiences.
I am specially intrested in CM and MTA loads they have on it if they have it in production. Bad experiences if they have had any. Manual (human) effort in data entry.

My name is Demian Pecile, and I am starting to admin CMTS.
I have an Arris C3 and 50 CM550.
I have 2 questions ...
My RF is deep fiber so, 2 amplifiers max from optical node to the customer. I choose QAM64 (modulation profile 30) for upstream, and I have 50 for SNR and 40-43 for MER in each upstrem.
This values are ok ? I think they are great, but my next question make me think I am missing something.
Having a very strange problem here, and I hoping someone can provide some insight. I have two CMTS's (UBR7223s) connected to the same provisioning system. One of the two UBR's is having a strange problem: If I change the ip address of a cm connected to this UBR, in the provisioning system, the modem will not be provisioned properly, and is unable to come online. It will become stuck at: init(d).
If I disconnect the cm for 24 hours, then it boots up with the new ip. It seems, for some reason the UBR's internal database is not being updated.
