converting DOCSIS cable modem for EuroDOCSIS operation

Forums:

My company currently purchases a DOCSIS embedded cable modem module from an ODM and modifies it for use in our product. We are interested in selling this product in Europe and are trying to find all the changes necessary for it to work in a EuroDOCSIS system. So far we have changed the diplex filter and recompiled the application FW for EuroDOCSIS operation. From my research, some or all of the BPI+ certificates will have to be changed.

Need help deciphering the following

Forums:

Hi Folks,

If the following sounds too basic, then you are correct since I am very new to CMTS world. Now to my question

Given the following:
GigabitEthernet2/0/0

I understand the first string (GigabitEthernet) represents the "media type"
2 represents the "solt #"
0 represents "port #"

I would like to know what the last number is for ?

Thanks in advance

Split downstream on uBR7223

Forums:

Hello all!
I've got what I suspect to be a simple issue here... I'm an IP network guy by trade, so forgive me if this is a ridiculous question :)

I have a CMTS with a downstream that's loaded. I have a second linecard that I'd like to activate, and have split the HFC plant (or a node, specifically) to accomodate this: I now have physically separate up and downstream paths for the node so that I can run my second linecard on that node, and run our busiest node on that card.
We run the ISC DHCP server on linux boxes behind the uBR using the cable helper-address config directive.

Arris C3 and TFTP problems

Forums:

Hello,

I am using Arris C3 CMTS in the network more than one year. The machine worked well all this time. A few days a go I detect some problems with transferring of CMs config file from TFTP through this CMTS to CMs.

On C3 is 290 CMs. First approximately 210 CMs immediately download their conf file. CMs which try to connect after approximately 210 successfully registration complete CMs, they needed more than 15 min for downloading there config file. On cable modem log is the message TFTF request sent but no response received.

doscsis 1.1 config files for docsis 2.0 CMs on a docsis 1.1 CMTS

Forums:

Hello,

I have a Arris CMTS 1500. I noticed that when I hooked it up to replace my Arris CMTS 1000 that 50 of my 85 CMs were stuck in a "Registration Request" state. After much research I determined that the 50 CMs were Ambit CMs that were docsis 2.0. I guess what I need is a CM config file that disables the docsis 2.0 stuff. Can anybody help out? Also, does anybody have a list of what the TLVs are?

Webstar 2100

Forums:

Can anyone tell me what the maximum throughput of an SA Webstar DPC2100R2 is? I've read on Cisco's website that it is 43 Mbps (which should probably read more like 38 Mbps), but when configuring it for 30Mbps through my cmts, I can only get about 5Mbps. This is almost directly off of the CMTS, so I'm sure the slow down is not plant related.
Thanks in advance,
Donna

DOCSIS Data Rates

Forums:

Does anyone know where I can get an overview of the maximum rates supported by the different versions of DOCSIS? I found some info on wikipedia, but not in the specifications of CableLabs.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers.
