I want to have 2 different DHCP servers on BSR 64K.
1 for CM & the other for CPE. CM is my primary host & CPE is the secondary host. What is the way out to use second DHCP server for CPE IPs ?
I am running BSR 64K with Docsis 2 Cards. I want to capture CPE with corresponding data - CPEs online with respective modem. Can i configure some event which can be logged to an external syslog server when a new CPE registers to CMTS. To be more clear, When a new CPE comes on the network, corresponding CM, CM MAC, CPE & CPE MAC should be logged somewhere - everytime.
How do i determine who has what public IP address on my network .......basically we have a cisco router 2611 router and a nortel cmts 1000 and i can see the private 10.0.X.XX range and i know who has it but i can not determine who has what public ip address on the CPE side of the cable modems.....i need this info because someone on the network with the 12.230.XX.XXX/24 range has malicious network traffic. I have researched the DHCP server and can see the mac address of the CPE device behind the modem but that doesnt really help me. Can anyone advise?
I am testing some cable modems with MTA incorporated.I have some problems to get them online .I am using linux dhcp server that is configured to assign only CM IP address.
I want to provide three IP for the modem ,:CM.MTA.and WAN (for internet ) (class''CM'' class"MTA" and class"CPE-or not-docsis")
Please ,can someone send me a DHCP configuration that works .
I install docsis_server 3.5 on sles 10.2. MySQL 5.0.26. I'm try configure --> mysql --> dhcp_server update tables, but not successfully!
Doc from server 2.0.4 does not quite fit,
How to fill a table mysql dhcp_server?
I would be grateful for any assistance.
I see this ------------------------------------------------------------------------
log dhcpserver
bad verify vlan mac 001e68b1a4b4 ip gi 10.7.0.1 vlan 0 num_nets 3
LOG NEW CM GIaddr mismatch (the CM moved) gi 10.7.0.1 ip vlan 0
no netptr mac 001e68b1a4b4 ip
LOG NAK -- no subnet for ip mac 001e68b1a4b4 vlan 0
We got a BSR64k running in docsis 1.1. We have hooked a modem up directly to the back of it and it is running corrected codewords when streaming data over the internet with an occasional uncorrectable. Is this normal? We are thinking that this should be clean and not running any corrected data. We have tried different modems and slots as well (sb5101, sb5120, and slots 11,12,13). Corrected codewords are about the same no matter what.
I'm trying to do a kind of traffic shaping in Cable Modem, so when traffic reaches the maximum sustained rate of a service flow, the ping reply from cable modem to be stable, not to go from 300 ms to 2000 ms.
Is this related to MaxTrafficBurst maybe?
Below is one of my service flow:.
Upstram Flow
Service Flow Reference = 1
QoS Parameter Set = 7
Traffic Priority = 1
Max Sutained Rate = 512000
