So .. I have like .. tons of errors on input/output on the FA interface .. also input errors on the cable interfaces .. and same thing on the catalyst switch to which 2 VXR's are connected... the FA's in the ubr's are in halfduplex mode because they'd work like crap if in full duplex .. I think because it wouldn't face the traffic ?:| .. currently I have 2 ubr's with the cable interfaces ( with 6 upstreams ) all of them having > 50 && < 200 users .. ( I could post real numbers if needed ) ...
Can someone please send me or expalin why RF upstream plant SHOULD NOT be balanced with a DOCSIS test feature on any meter that has this application. Also explain why RF upstream plant /Downstream RF plant should always be balanced with a good sound sweep system ( WHICH I HAVE BUT IS NOT USED).PM techs are not using the sweep to balance upstream plant and they must stop using the DOCSIS Test feature to perfom this task...........Someone please send me the technical reasons why so I can stop this from occuing in our plant.Headend and Hubs are secured where unity gain is concerned to all servi
Anyone know what OID or MIB will allow SNMPset or SNMPwalk to restart a cable modem via a NORTEL CMTS 1000 using the modem mac address only? I need to command that modem restarts via mac address and not ip address over SNMP on my network.
Recently my BSR1K went offline I don't know why and the fail led was turn on. I reloaded it and then it was good. Is there any way (different to show log) to know what happened?
I've heard by a very good person about a diagnosis mode for this device at start up. It is possible?
Does anyone know if UBr 7225 and 7246 are compatible with M-CMTS architecture.
Reading the specifications of each ubr we haven't found anything related to Docsis 3.0 but in a cisco whitepaper, it seems that is compatible ...
Hello, everyone.
Recently we've connected the second downstream to our network. New cable modems that have just been connected to one of the upstreams assosiated with the second downstream, go online way too slowly. It looks like they find the frequency of the first downsream first and try to connect. But since the upstream they are connected to is not assosiated with the first downstream, they just keep struggling over and over. After some time they start scanning again, find the frequency of the second downstream and get online quite fast.
I am looking for a sample configuration file for a Terayon BW-3500 or similar that has RIP enabled. We are trying to setup this CMTS similar to the way Comcast does. Meaning Comcast currently offers their business class customers a SMC modem/router that has 5 to 13 static addresses & the routers are configured to use RIP. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
