I just recently got a job as a service technician, I am completely new to this position. I'm wondering if anyone with more experience in this field could please mentor me? My company offers internet and TV through CATV and we are still on DOCSIS 3.0. Anyone willing to do this could drop me a message on georgefriedman111@gmail.com and I will really appreciate it
Hello
I've got two questions, the current firmware is 01.01.132.sip.
when doing a scm phy, I noticed the ds snr is about 5 db lower than a Netgear cable modem. test setup, so no others to do apples and oranges with.
the return is 5-85Mhz, with sc Qams up to 42Mhz. remaining is used for ofdma.
I use Excentis (current release) to make modem file changes. the oid for upper diplex is different for the Netgear (no what Excentis uses)
and looks to be the same for Arris modem as well.
1. is there a newer firmware version available?
Good morning colleagues. I have a couple of questions that I want to ask you as I am not sure. 1 - on a Cisco ubr7200 cmts, the download in Mbps from my cable modems goes through the Upstream or Downstream port. Does the data upload go through the Downstream or Upstream port? 2- what is the capacity in Mbps that can pass through an upstream port and a downstream port, taking into consideration that my downstream cable modulation 256qam and my cable upstream channel width is 3200000. Using a cmts with NPE-G1 cards as processor and Cisco-UBR-MC16C line card.
Hello, I'm doing an audit on our cable modems, noticing some not coming up bonded as they should, very old modems, wondering if it could be a firmware issue.
Motor SB6180 SB6180-3.2.1.0-GA-00-252-NOSHSB6180-3.2.1.0-GA-00-252-NOSH, is what they are running.
I can't find any firmware in the Arris Download center for it, is there anything newer that I can get somewhere that will help it bond 8x4?
Has anyone successfully implement IPv6 and their DOCSIS network? My company recently gets its IPv6 pool and I am struggling on how to start its implementation.
We use isc-dhcp to provision our CMs with private IPv4 addresses, then we use NAT in our Mikrotik router to get users to the Internet, but with IPv6 I imaging everything changes.
