I am running docsis 1.1 with cisco ubr7200VXR IOS 12.2(33)SCE5, with modem motorola SB5101i. I am using static service flow with two service (voice and data). I made clasifier based on udp port of voice. the plant testing is: phone and pc (both of them will get IP DCHP) connected to router (nat), router conected to modem. the result is modem and pc already get IP DCHP from router, but when I do call and browsing, both of them traffic comes in to primary DS dan US.
I'm a Cable Modem engineer.
I just got the arris(nortel)'s old CMTS, CMTS 1000 and CMTS 1100.
For debugging, I must enable this CMTS.
But I cant assign IP to cable modem.
CM succeed to lock the downstream and upstream ranging.
But there is no DHCP request from CM side. ( of cause, CM send a DHCP offer).
I have checked the CMTS's manual, so I found that this CMTS is bridge , no included the router.
So, I would like to specific the DHCP IP at this CMTS, but I can't find it.
I am looking to find the best operating range and/or configuration for stability for our plant. Most notably, what you are using in respect to frequency, channel width, and Qam with respect to reducing noise and their relationships with one another. Right now, the best SNR we can achieve is 36.1, on a good day. It tends to be between 30 and 33, but periodically experience drops below 28. At or below 28, we start to drop packets and ultimately get upset customers with intermittent problems. As you can see, there isn't much room for play.
Suggestions on keeping SNR stable. We are running 64 QAM and every so often are experiencing High fluctuations in our SNR. Seems if we are chasing our tails more times than not. What maintenance work are you doing to keep this number stable as possible?
