I'm new in DOCSIS, how can i upgrade/downgrade firmware of a docsis cable modem, which option do i need to set in configuration and what is the format of the file.
I'm trying to locate a CPE but i have no idea which modem it's connected to. It's in a large appartment complex with almost a thousand users so i can't look at them one by one. I tried using the CPE MAC address in shows cable modem hosts but it dosen't seem to see the CPE behind the modems. We're using a Motorola BSR2000 . Can someone help me with the command i'm supposed to use to scan the entire network looking for a specific CPE MAC ? Is that even possible with the equipment we have there ?

I am looking for a PacketCable provisioning system, I wonder if in the PacketCable docis_server can be implemented, if not, there is one open source, which recommend provisoinamiento system.

I'm having problems bringing up a Motorola SBV5222 running their SIP load (SBV5222-SIP-2.0.6-SCM-05-SHTW). The cm side is coming up, but the MTA side has the issue. It seems the MTA config file is being accepted, but there's something wrong. The MTA logs in the Telephony GUI show a config file error:
should i use 1 ip Bundle on all slot , or 8 ip Bundle for 8 slot ?
when i think 1 Bundle for all slot , it easy to control ip scope and save the ip usage.
but only 1 bundle will have any effect about the traffic ? more broadcast ? more arp packet ?
because only 1 ip bundle will have a large broadcast domain on 1 cmts .
