Hello,
This is my first post here and need help on a snmp regarded issue. What I want to is to request information using snmp about how many wideband and how many docsis 2 modems are online in a mac domain. I have been googling for an oid but so far without success. Any ideas how one could accomplish this on a cisco cmts?
Does anyone have any practical experience setting up DSG in a moto/nas headend environment?
I've been tinkering with the configuration lines in my spare cmts off and on, but I'd really like to get it actually working.
I'm running a Cisco 7225, with a HITS/NAS headend. HMS is onsite, DAC/RADD are on HITS end.
I have another BSR 2000 that has the System LED lights going back and forth in a fast zig zag motion like "knight Rider" lights on the car. I have never seen this before . The Power light is stable , but its doing this on the other four LED (FAIL, SYS, ALM, RED) . This started happening after cable company did something and left . I am waiting for them to come back out , since it dropped all communication and I can longer connect to CMTS. Any ideas ?, thanks
I've updated the firmware on hundreds of SB6121 without issue. In our most recent lot of cable modems there were a couple of modems that do not attempt to do the upgrade. I'm trying to upgrade to SB612X-1.0.5.2-SCM01-NOSH.
I used Wirehark to snoop on the DHCP traffic between a bad CM and my provisioning system. I compare this with the DHCP packets from a CM that does do the firmware upgrade and don't see any real difference.
I cannot open the web page on the CM that does not accept the firmware upgrade.
I have a small private RV resort we are working on. In 2006 we designed and built the TV side of the system, all underground cabling. Yes we kept the future in mind, using all 1 ghz passives, 2 way amps ect. Now that their wifi system is overloaded its time for a better alternative. To the point, we have everything ready to go but need assistance with the Cisco CMTS. I've decided on the Motorola 5000 surfboard as the only cm to be used in the system. But I have a startup config problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is our recently revised version yet to be loaded:
How can I make an software change or upgrade from motorola SB5101i with firmware SB5101-2.4.4.0-SCM00-NOSH to firmware for motorola SB5101e (euro docsis). We need the modems to work on EuroDocsis standard. Changing the Freguency plan in configuration menu of the modem does not solve this issue.
Is it posible to make such software upgrade ?
We recently did a move to mixed mode on our cmts. Things went well in general, but there are several modems on the system that appear to be DOCSIS 2.0 capable, but show up registered as DOCSIS 1.0 (or 1.1). Here's an example from a "show cable modem docsis version":
Is there any possibility to change Cisco EPC3000 to DPC3000 by changing the firmware.
I know that inside hardware part is same for both, but frequency plan is different. So
It is creating a mess in installation. It is not direct Cisco buy, so support hard to find.
Or
any trick like (gscan.asp) .Where I can select the freq. plan like Motorola Surfboards.
I have to install a docsis2.0 system, I got a few docsis 2 configuration on this site but I don't know which row what is standing for. So I looked the http://cmtsinfo.net/ site but this descriptions isn't enough for me.
If you know a site where I will get more description or you have a documentation please share with me.
We now have cable modems/MTA's registering. Speed is the issue. No one can get more than 100K down and 1.7M up. Cisco config is pasted and one of the config files is pasted as well.
