Now I want to test cmts with cable modem. This is what I plan to do:
- connect modem to cmts (how to do this, on which ports - I guess on downstream and one of the upstream ports, how to combine these ports to go to modem bacause modem has only one rf on it and it will go via one cable through network)
- use miktotik pppoe server as I use for adsl
- use radius for user authentication
I do not plan to use dhcp in cable network (they will get address from pppoe pool on mikrotik pppoe server)
I need help with this initial setup

What is reasonable to expect with a non-VXR 7246 fully loaded with MC16C's and a NPE225?
I'm now running around 800 D.1 modems through it and seeing my downstreams peaking in the low to mid 20mbps range with my 100Mbps FE seemingly hitting a wall at around 68Mb. Seems like there should still be some headroom in the FE based on my limited understanding of the D.1 downstream limitations overall, but we seem to be falling over at that 68Mb point.
I need help with CMTS 1000.
I can change network settings:ip, subnet and gateway but after I turn off and on device settings change itself to default (no ip, no gateway). Can someone tell me is there a way to save these changes. This is causing me a headache.

Hello,
I'm a new user on this forum.
I purchased CMTS 1000 used device from Nortel Networks manufacturer and I wasn't provided with needed software LCn provisioning server. Can someone help me to find this software or give me a link.
Are there some useful tutorials outthere for CMTS 1000, and can this device be manageable only via serial cable?
I could use your help because it is expected from me to operate this device and to be honest I don't know from where to start.

I work in a company from Brazil that makes maintenance in cable modens.
Here I have one DHCP and TFTP server in running on Windows. I use the "Network Registrar 5.5.13" software and one CMTS 1000 Arris.
The utilization here is only for maintenance of cable modem.
I will like of change the DHCP and TFTP server to Linux.
I set the dhcpd.conf file but the the cable modem don't receive IP.
I don't have very experience in Linux.
If someone can help me I will be very grateful.
Below my system configurations.
We have got a small CATV network and usually found some upstream problem on the network and it causes some difficulties. I heard about the ALMS software (Automatic Leakage Measurment System) and I think it will help Us. Have got anybody experience with this software (using, price, etc.)
