Hello friends I am a small ISP in Chile, I bought a ARRIS CMTS 1000 which I configured according to information on the Internet, the problem is that I can not no cable modem can sync with the CMTS, I measured the output values from the port downstream and test and are excellent, attached a video posted on youtube with the scheme.
I have a CMTS with CMTS I.P at 10.10.0.1 .
The primary gateway I.P Address is 10.10.4.1 255.255.255.0
The secondary gateway I.P Address is 10.10.8.1 255.255.255.0
C-DOCSIS proctol is published on August,17th,2012. this protol adopts channel binding technology. From DOCSIS2.0 to C-DOCSIS, this improvemen greatly enhance the datarate.because now the CMTS has16 DS and 4 US.
On the CCBN exihibition held on March.21st in Beijing, China, some companies brought their DOCSIS3.0 CMTS to this exihibition. Among them, the CMTS produced by Jinghong company is exercellent. This is their third generation products. They called them D3 series CMTS. There are three types of their D3 series :Chassis CMTS, outdoor CMTS and D-node .

I am new to DOCSIS and CMTS. We have a CMTS at work.
We have been asked to perform a ranging test on cable modems.
Can you briefly explain what ranging is so that a novice like myself can understand it? Right now the CMTS only has 1 Upstream and 1 Downstream.
