locate source of uncorrectables

Forums:

I am just wondering if ya'll have an easier way of locating a modem(s) that is putting out a lot of uncorrectable data on the upstream port. Currently I use a mib browser and query all the modems on that particular upstream port looking for uncorrectable amounts that stick out, document them and then recheck a few minutes later. This can be very time consuming on certain nodes that have 200 or so modems. Any suggestions on an easier way to do this. Also, do ya'll have any daily tasks that you perform on the cmts side of the network?

Blonder Tongue CMTS with FOCS managment software

Forums:

We just purchased a blonder tongue CMTS and are attempting to get it up and running. We purchased the management software from Blonder Tongue as well, which is actually created by Coresma. Based on references in the documentation and the configs, I believe the CMTS to be a rebadged EVR (or at least running the same firmware).

Diag Web Page in SB5101

Forums:

Hi
I need to enable the CM web page in some SB5101, like I have in the CM 550a from Arris. But I am having problems, I already try to enable with some OID that found in the web, without luck.
The provider don't have any idea about what I am asking.

Thanks

Active detection and avoidance of malicious traffic from CPEs

Forums:

Hello all
I've been struggling with this for some time now, and thought I'd put it out to the hive mind and see what y'all are doing. We're trying to implement an automated system for dealing with the ever present issue of virus infected CPE equipment.

I'll start with a short-ish background of what we're doing and how it works, and then pose my question/ comments:
We admin a small Cable ISP. They run a Cisco uBR7223, and all the IP level stuff is based on Free and Open Source, Linux based software running on off the shelf gear. Some of it is modified to work and do what they need.

converting DOCSIS cable modem for EuroDOCSIS operation

Forums:

My company currently purchases a DOCSIS embedded cable modem module from an ODM and modifies it for use in our product. We are interested in selling this product in Europe and are trying to find all the changes necessary for it to work in a EuroDOCSIS system. So far we have changed the diplex filter and recompiled the application FW for EuroDOCSIS operation. From my research, some or all of the BPI+ certificates will have to be changed.

Need help deciphering the following

Forums:

Hi Folks,

If the following sounds too basic, then you are correct since I am very new to CMTS world. Now to my question

Given the following:
GigabitEthernet2/0/0

I understand the first string (GigabitEthernet) represents the "media type"
2 represents the "solt #"
0 represents "port #"

I would like to know what the last number is for ?

Thanks in advance
