24h dynamic IP for CPE

Forums:

Hi,

i would like to build a docsis-service witch is comparably to DSL/PPPoE-services. Therefore i would like to force to change the CPE IP every 24h.

Just to change the DHCP lease-time isn't the solution, because the CPE is asking the DHCP-server for the same address.

The DHCP-server should respond to the renew-request with another ip adress. But i dont't know how to do this with ISC DHCP server.

Is there a way to modify the IP adress negotiate process with ISC DHCP?
Any hints?

Paul

Latest MTA Modem Firmware

Forums:

Hi there,

Does anybody have the latest firmware of MTA/VOIP Modems like :
Motorola SBV5121E
Cisco EPC3925 EuroDocsis 3.0 Voice Gateway
Arris TM602B/DM

I'm trying to implement the voip into a testing lab with MTa but i wanted to change first the firmware on this modems and check if i can bring the modem to get the mta/dhcp and tftp.

Anyway to check local node saturation

Forums:

Hi there,
Is there a way to know who is using too heavy the downstream channel in BSR64k ? Because 2.0 Cable modems with +30MB of speed will saturate the channels in a short time.

Thanks

Forums:

Hi Everybody,

I looking for the above oid ( like Cisco -> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.116.1.4.1.1.6 ), but suspicious that there is no such for Motorola..
Thank you.

TM602b SIP Europe Firmware

Forums:

Hi,

Does someone have TM602b SIP Europe Firmware they could send me? The firmware seems to be the toughest part of this business. They should set up a firmware ftp server on docsis.org. :)

Thanks

machine readable DOCSIS TLV encoding definitions

Forums:

Does CableLabs publish a machine readable list of DOCSIS TLVs? i.e. Annex C of DOCSIS 3.0 upper layer protocols. They are also listed in the CableLabs' Assigned Names and Numbers but I have not seen any machine readable version.

DOCSIS 3.0 Implementation Motorola BSR64k

Forums:

We currently have 2 BSR64k units running our internet service, but we are currently targeting DOCSIS 1.1/2.0 functionality.

We recently acquired additional BSR64k units with TX32 cards so we could work on getting DOCSIS 3 going. Unfortunately, while we have no issues setting up the existing units, we aren't even sure where to begin with what is required for the DOCSIS 3 functionality.

I was wondering if anyone would have an example config I could take a look at to at least get some direction.

8x4 bonding accross WideBand and integrated-controller

Forums:

Hi,

It is possible to do

4 downstream from mc2020 and 4 downstream from EdgeQam = 8x4 bonding ?

I want to maximize my mc2020 making 8x4 for each node

e.g
mac domain 5/0/0 = 4 downstream from mc2020 and 4 downstream from EdgeQam = 8x4 (Node 1)
mac domain 5/0/1 = 4 downstream from mc2020 and 4 downstream from EdgeQam = 8x4 (Node 2)
mac domain 5/0/2 = 4 downstream from mc2020 and 4 downstream from EdgeQam = 8x4 (Node 3)
mac domain 5/0/3 = 4 downstream from mc2020 and 4 downstream from EdgeQam = 8x4 (Node 4)

or I Should do
