I am looking to put a CMTS in place to test against some wireless cable modems in an automated testbed. What I am looking for is a small CMTS with a web interface that will allow me to set it up as a bridge so the cable modems receive their DHCP info from ethernet network. I would probably setup between 4 to 10 cable modems to test against.
What CMTS would be best for this setup?
Can a CMTS be put in a bridge mode as I described and work on an IP network? (I have accomplished this setup with an IP-DSLAM and DSL modems successfully...)
I have uBR10K CMTS as M-CMTS and on that i have configured 615 MHz channel as primary and two channels on RFGW-1 621 & 627 MHz. When i connect SMC3DGN modem on it, modem gets online through following :
init(r1)
init(rc)
init(i)
init(o)
w-online (Docsis 3.0 mode)
and after 2-3 seconds it goes "offline". again it starts ranging and gets in the same loop.
I am using a BW 3200 but I have a problem. After of a blackout The Switch control don't detect the Line Card. I changed the port the cable scsi but no port responds. I tried to reoad the system but no works.
Please anyone can help me, alll my costumers are offline.
I am newbie in docsis system andright know testing to connect Motorola SB5101 to CMTS Arris 1500. I configure via CLI in standar configuration however, SB5101 still couldn't connected to cmts. Upstream and downstream frequency is connected an ranging completed but modem status stuck in "DCHP offer". I ran DHCP server from RedHat 9.
My question:
- is it possible to connected SB5101 to Arris CMTS without Provioning Software?
- Is there still use CMTS Arris 1500 and is in operation? Could you sent me your configuration?
I tried booting a BW 3230, but does not finish the booting process. Already tried the recovery with Loads system factory setup, but does not work.
Someone could help me with this problem:
thank you for the question, exactly what I do, I have two type of customer: customers monthly and those with prepaid cards.
* the client monthly plans must connect without restriction until the end of their monthly payment, and in this case they switch among the prepaid customer to renew the monthly payment.
* prepaid customers themselves, their connections will be redirected at the CMTS to the captive portal. captive portal will leave only the identified clients.
Being new to this I started reading about packet cable in a form of trying to have a normalized network and not worrying about
different CM's emta specifications. By what I read Packet cable can do this and version 1.5 of packet cable introduced SIP
but I can't see in the mibs where it is referenced has I only see references to NCS (MGCP)
What should I be reading / looking for ?What am I missing?
