What is your opinion !

I have ubr10k and this is my first docsis3.0 configuration, your opinion will be apreciated.

How many modems must be connected in a lab environment?

What is the best modem with/without wireless? (I have thomson to test ubr10k but i see many people talking about Arris)

We have ubr10K CMTS and have

We have ubr10K CMTS and have mainly used Arris modems/mta for DOCSIS 3.0, and generally been happy

Unfortunately we rolled out TG852 for wifi / iptv duties - and wish we hadn't.

Beware, stay well clear of this model !

We've had this model in production for several years now, and the firmware still has showstopper bugs in it.

Also about half of them had faulty wireless hardware modules that had to be replaced.

Oh and most likely the newer TG862 also has similar software problems, since they share the same software set (different build/CPU but same version numbers)

Non wireless/router models like CM820 CM822 etc are fine

When I am labbing new config,

When I am labbing new CMTS config, I use a little collection of modems connected via coax wiring in the headend. I have about 12 modems, each of which is a different brand/model. Mix of D2 / D3, modem, router, mta etc.

For testing firmware or new cm configs, I would usually roll it out to a few modems on my test bench, and then to a subset of customers, and then to all customers.
