Hi,

I'm having a heck of a time with a config file. Programmer's block. I'm trying to get 3 packet classifiers. VoIP, port 80 and everything else. I can get VoIP no problem and I can get port PcIpDestPortStart and end to 80 no problem for VoIp. I just can't seem to get a catch all to slow everything else down a bit. Does anyone have any ideas or example files?

Hi,

for everything else which will not match the PacketClassifier the cable modem will take the primary Downstream and Upstream ServiceFlow.

you must configure two ServiceFlows for each direction. The first ServiceFlow of each direction are the Primary. The second ServiceFlow per direction are the Secondary. In your case let the Traffic which is matching your PacketClassifier for Port 80 and VoIP use the Secondary ServiceFlows via the right ServiceFlowReference. All other traffic will use the Primary ServiceFlows.

btw. do you want to match HTTP-Server at the customer or from Internet? From Internet you must use the SourcePort and not DestinationPort.

Why is port 80 going slow with this?

I believe I did what You said, but it's still not right. I'm trying to do this:

1. VoIP - first priority
2. Web - 1024 down 384 up
3. "everything else" - 128 down 64 up

Number 1 works, but the web traffic is going to number 3. Any Ideas?

as the gentleman said - port

as the gentleman said - port 80 truly is destination port for client's browser, however client side is surely not opening tcp connection at port 80. therefore you need to permit "outgoing port any" and "destination port 80" if you are looking to specify outgoing "surfing web" traffic. even than you will not get all of the http traffic, but most, anyways. you probably need to edit part

PcIpSourcePortStart = 80
PcIpSourcePortEnd = 80

and change it to ... whatever - i guess - from 1024 to 65536 or something :)

No luck.

I changed the source ports to 1024 to 65535 and it does the same things.

I got it!

I just had to add:

PcIpProtocol = 256

to the up and down classes.
