what does this mean ? is it a hardware issue

You have booted into a boot

You have booted into a boot image. You need to have it load a full IOS image.

Things to check:

1. Sh disk0: make sure there is a full IOS image there

2. check config-register it should most likely be 0x2102 see this doc for what the meanings of the various config registers are http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps133/products_tech_note0...

Have changed the PCMCIA flash card .. and uploaded a new image .. working perfect now
