Cable modem losing Internet connection

Hi everyone,

I've been havinf some issues recently with some clients, where suddenly their modems lost connection to the Internet or something like that, since their devices (smartphones, tablets, etc) tell them: "limited access" or "Connected without Internet". I am not sure if this situation is related to noise problems on the node or if it is the cable modem, which could have the issue. I check the noise of the clients modems that are reporting this issue more and it is relative good, the cable modems have CNR between 22 and 34 dB or higher, the return potency is normally between 43 dBm and 54 dBm. We use refurbished cable modems like Ubee DVW326, Arris DG1670A and Arris DG860P2, so I haven't rule out that maybe the modems could be causing the issue.

Have any of you had a similar problem?

Best regards,

cmcaldas
Give me one ping only

Hunt for Red October.. classic clip when I ask if someone can do a ping.. so when the modems show online but customer can't pass data, can you ping the modem from the cmts? if no, can you do a docsis ping?
what cmts are you using and can you post the rf side config for review?
most of the time when this happens I found it to be a return plant issue, lowering the modulation profile (unless it's configured to change automatically) and having the line tech clean up the return. if configured for 64Qam and snr is 22 you'll have the issue you posted.
answer the questions as it will help getting it resolved.
