BSR64k SRM10 – Low throughput with 10G SFP+ uplink

Hello,

I’m working with a BSR64k with SRM10 in a lab environment.
The cable modem has a 1G/100Mb config and is in a 24 downstream bonding group.

- Instead of achieving 1G download, I can only measure around 250–280 Mbps when using a 10G SFP+ uplink.

- However, when I replace the SFP+ with an SFP (1G uplink), I am able to measure 950 Mbps downstream speed behind the cable modem.

I cannot figure out what is causing this issue. I have already tried replacing SFP+ modules with different types, but it didn’t help.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hi,

Hi,
I’ve had similar experiences, and in my case the issue was solved by using original SFP+ modules. There’s a lot of counterfeit hardware out there, so if you buy, for example, a Cisco SFP+ from unofficial channels like eBay, you might run into these kinds of problems.
I finally went with Mikrotik SFP+ modules because I knew they weren’t clones, and that resolved the issue for me.
