I'm a software developer (not a headend engineer) and I have developed a cable modem test platform which pulls metrics from cable modems for a testing company. I've been able to test the eMTA functionality with a backend SIP server but need to do the same with eMTAs with packetcable firmware. I'm wondering if it's possible to connect to an Asterisk PBX utilizing the packetcable firmware. I would like to detect dialtone and test audio fidelity using dial plans.
Any help would be appreciated...

Quite a while back someone wrote a patch for Asterisk to use NCS signalling (packetcable). There has not been any activity on it in a couple of years but it is located here
