Can somebody confirm this. I have situation where docsis_server 3.5 sends wrong IP address in ACK packet for cable modems. It is IP+1 or IP+2 from value in OFFER packet.

Some of the cable modems doesn't mind this, but some of the do, and they end up stuck in init(i)...

I need help with option 122. I've been browsing forums for days before I run into this obstacle. It is very hard for me to figure out what is a problem for my MTAs.

Hardware I use is BSR1000, modems are SBV5121, server is fedora, dhcp is isc-dhcpd-4.0.0.

I have gradually worked my way through dhcpd.conf - I managed to boot up CM, assign it fixed IP address, and send it option 122 so it wakes MTA up. Problem is that MTA keeps sending dhcp discover but it seems not to "hear" my dhcp offers from the server.

Some suggestions for software to monitoring the cablemodems, view status, power levels, operating time and more. Seeking that can simultaneously monitor multiple cablemodems to save record (log) of the parameters of each cable modem, to diagnose system failures.

Currently I use Stormwatch II.

We're trying to deploy an Arris MTA using NCS firmware to a Cisco uBR7246VXR... provisioning is ISC DHCP. We're fighting an issue with how we want the cable modems and then the MTA to come online. We want the cable modem to grab a level of service config file under it's cable MAC address, and then the MTA to make it's own DHCP request under the MTA mac address and grab a file macaddy.mta

I was looking for a way to control many CPE bandwidth using ServiceFlows.. but when I try to control more than 10 clients (I mean, put more than 10 UsPacketClass, 10 DsPacketClass, 10 UsServiceFlow and 10 DsServiceFlow) my Cable Modem doesn't come online, staying in init(o) (This I can see directly in my cmts - show cable modem 0013.711b.5498).

There are limitations like this??
My CMTS is a Cisco 7246VXR and i'm using docsis to encode. The Cable Modem is a motorola SurfBoard 5100/5101 Software Version: SB5100-2.3.3.0-SCM00-NOSH and SB5101-2.5.2.0-SCM01-NOSH-NNDMN.p7

I am a residential subscriber of a cable ISP. The connection is solid -- I am getting what I pay for according to all my speed tests (download and upload speeds).

I have 2 BSR2000, the two have 1.0.0P59.TRCU firmware version. Is there any latest version?

Where can I get the new version and relevant literature?

Hi guys,

At the moment we are using SAMIS for usage accounting data/IPTV/VoIP etc. However the 15minute minute delay between samples is unacceptable. A lot can happen in 15minutes.

I have written a simple script to telnet to a CMTS and execute commands to grab subscriber details etc. Which is a hell of alot more efficient and faster than SAMIS. It takes about 5 seconds to telnet to a cmts, and fetch the counters and service flow details for every mac on a heavily loaded uBR10K cmts (close to 30K subscribers).

So far the commands that I am using and have discovered.
