Here is what we need.

Is a kerberos server absolutely necessary in a DOCSIS1.1/PacketCable/VoIP deployment using a CM/MTA like an Arris? What does it do for you? Is there someting (pdf/doc) that explains it's use?
Is there any way to obtain a measurement of the downstream BER or MER with a cable modem, without using a QAM analyzer/tester?
The Cisco uBR900s are reporting always 0, and they say in the docs it does not report this value. Are there any SNMP MIBS for obtaining pre/post-FEC error rates?
as many of you here before I am also having some problems with getting eMTA to work. I can successfully get the CM part working (I am using docsis utility to generate it), but I have some problems getting the MTA part to start.
I have the following option 122 suboptions:
for CM:
option docsis-mta.dhcp-server-1 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx;
for MTA:
option docsis-mta.provision-server 0 "\003mta\007domains\003net\000";
option docsis-mta.krb-realm-name "\005BASIC\0011\000";
Recently we installed new BSR2000 in our network and i noticed that it uses about 3mbps traffic only on the downstream even if the downstream port is not wired anywhere and there is no modem on the BSR. Is this behaviour normal or there is some we need to do?
I've done this many times on the Arris 1000 and 1500's, but do I turn on SNMP in the C3 so I can do some basic SNMP stuff? For example, I use Linus and PHP to run this code:
I'm installing internet access to an older cable tv system. The Arris CMTS 1000 and a few modems are winging their way here now. The more I read about setting up this equipment the more I get confused. Just how many PCs do I need?
Is there any DOES-ALL Freeware packages I can use to keep the PC count down to one PC? (I'll be wanting to use Linux). Docsis_server just does 'provisioning'? Nagios just does 'monitoring'?
Hello Dear All,
Please, please help me with the TWG850 Provisioning.
Provisioning - means that I have some server and TWG850 which is connected to this server. And I want to configure some network or TWG850 for this device, etc..
also from Thomson docs: Provisioning - The process of enabling the Media Terminal Adapter (MTA) to register and
provide services over the network.
Anybody can describe step-by-step how I can configure auto provisioning for TWG850.
Or can give me some necessary URLs.
Thank you a lot.
All I've found so far is it's Orange. What the heck is it and why would I want to pay the expense for one? I've been searching for hours and can't find any literature on these type of modems. Would having one be a useful tool for the tool-box? If so, how do you make use of it?
