I don't have or ever used one.. Been trying to help someone who does. they tell me it's configured via a web page and it's self provisioning with a single downstream and upstream port. Is there a way to get a show run or show tech from these things? Can't see how it's docsis certified with internal dhcp/tftp server..
Thanks in advance for your feedback
And I'm able to capture traffic when I use non-bonding downstream but when I've a modem on bonded DS the same configuration didn't work and can't capture anymore the traffic.
Each CMTS may have one or many Line Card, in these card, it can have multiple US and DS interfaces. these interface are connected to FiberNode via fiber cable, and then using coxial it send to CM. I can see that only one interface (either US/DS) from CMTS can be connected to Fibernode, then how does the CM uses the same interface for sending both US and DS signal.
How the US/DS interface of CMTS get associated with fibernode ?
I would like to know, if IPaddress is been assigned to FiberNode, by DNS Server located at MSO Head end. (is DNS Server will be available at head end or it is available at ISP) .
In case the Fiber Node have IPAddress, which MIB will expose that details, so that I can use that and check the status of FiberNode with periodic status Polling.
Also how does the IPAddress assigned to Cable Modem ?
I am reading on various MAC Domains like MD-CM-SG-ID , MD-US-SG-ID or MD-DS-SG-ID , but not able to understand these terms. If there is any easy explanation of what are they, why we need them, how they helps us actually.
Also how these can be works out from SNMP Perspective ?
I am working on project related to CATV, and would like to know if the below SNMP Metrics varies frequently. If so , i need to look for some script to pull the values periodically .
Hello.
First, i would like to apologise for asking non docsis question on a docsis forum, but belive me i have tried to find forums related to my problem and i have failed.
Docsis forum is closest for my problem - i think:)
My problem is with BigBand/Arris BMR1200A unit, which i bought used in Poland, without magagement software. Unfortunettly, Arris does not support this system in Europe anymore, but it does in the US. Since i am in Europe, i have a huge problem...
hi all:
now i am using CNR to provisioning a arris 1672 modem up.
1. my CNR is 7.2.
2. the discover from CM/MTA/GW use the same gateway, so when CNR received the discover, they have the same ip source like "10.x.x.254".
3. CM and MTA need get different cfg file. so they use different policy.
4. i tried to use client to set different ip per MAC, and as CNR's helper to configure restrict-to-reservations to enalbe in the scope. but CNR said :
Unable to respond to DHCP DISCOVER Request: R251 from Client: CID: ff:d6:df:c5:d2:00:03:00:01:00:1d:
