Address Filtering

Hello All...

I wonder if anyone know how to force a CPE to get an IP from a pool based on CM MAC Filtering, not using a specific Ethernet CPE MAC... In other words, I need that CPEs behind determinated cable modems get an IP from a pool destinated for that cable modems CPEs.

Some idea?

Meaning you want cpe's behind

Meaning you want cpe's behind say, different brands of modems to get a different group of IP's? Or a group of CPE's behind a specific list of modems to get a different group of IP's?

Sorry for my english!

Sorry for my english!

Let me try to explain. I need to allocate an IP pool for CPE's that will be connected to the CM's of a specific class. For example: I have a CM enabled with 10Mbps (class 10m), I need that any CPE connected to that Modem get an IP from a specific subnet pool like 190.168.1.1 - 190.168.1.30 and not from any of the others subnets in the dhcp server, because I have several subnets in the network-sharing configuration. Do you understand?

I know that I can create a specific hosts group, but I dont want to set the CPE's MAC in the dhcpd config file because the customers uses several computers many times.

So, if I can allocate an IP to a CPE from an specific pool based on the CM MAC, it will be my solution for my problem.

Thank you very much.
